If the above method is not helping you then try this method. In this section, I’ll tell you how to clear the dust off the PS4 and tape over the sensor. The steps are as follows
Firstly clean the eject area from outside without opening the console. Sometimes from the outside dust can accumulate the eject button area.
You will need compressed air, soft cloth, and a brush.
- Take the compressed air and below some amount of air in the area where your eject button is located.(you can use walmart air compressor)
- After this take some soft cloth and clean the console area as much as you can.
- Apply a soft brush where a button is present and has a hole where dust can collect.
- Clean the rest area with the help of air.
Now secondly clean it from inside.
- So just flip it around (button side) and then at the back you will see the three screws.
- Take the 89 security screwdriver or else take a simple screwdriver which helps you to open the screws.
- Recommended screwdriver is a 2 millimetre flat-head screwdriver. Open the screw with caution because if you make any mistake it will break the PS4 and also void your warranty.
- Remove the cover and you will see the sensor which is green in colour and has a golden small plate on it.
- When you touch this with some metal object then it will eject PS4 disc.
- Take soft cloth and clean it carefully.
- You can also pass some amount of air on it, don’t you use any spray or liquid spray.
- Now after cleaning plug the console and touch with your finger on that golden part and you will hear the noise. So it mean the driver is working.
- After this take the pieces of tape and cover it on the golden part.
Note: If your gadget is still under warranty, please do not do this and instead send it to Sony for repair.
